KooKoo Kouvola - KJT Järvenpää (14th December 2002)

The last whole day in Finland was planned for Kouvola to meet our friend Tapani who visited us earlier in 2002. He showed us a little of the city and we talked a lot with him and his parents who were very friendly to us. Later in the evening we visited a match of KooKoo who is playing first division in Finland. KooKoo had to fight back after a none effective first period. They showed big flexability by beating KJT after trailing them. Very good match which is still not comparable to our (dutch) Super League.

Just thumbnails available! Send me an email if you like to have a larger version of a picture.

Cheerleaders of the basketball team were at the match to support KooKoo. If you ever visit a match including the cheerleaders: take a seat at least two places from the cheerleaders because they might hit you ... sometimes a little to enthousiastic!

As shown beneath: the icehall would easily fit among the German Hockey League icehalls and is bigger than any Dutch icehall. There is a capacity of 6000 fans (some standings are not used, but are available).

In the middle: a huge chance for KJT which should have been a 100% score.

On the left: SCORE after a break-away starting at the red center line!

Everyone was allowed to visit the press conference after the match. On the left coach and former player of KooKoo. In the middle coach of KJT who played for KooKoo as well.
