Tappara Tampere - Ilves Tampere (7th December 2002)

One of the main reason to visit Finland: the derby between Tappara and Ilves at Tampere. The english version of jäähalli (icehall) was not that familiar in Tampere. After asking two persons for a confirmation on the busses to the icehall, we gave up using icehall and just asked for "jäähalli" in stead. And it worked! Anyway: it really was worth visiting Tampere and the icerink although the match was not like we expected it to be. Ilves could not keep up with Tappara and the score was fine to Tappara so they did not pull 100% out of it. But again, it was really worth the trip. In the icehall there are two fanshops right next to each other: one for Ilves and one for Tappara. Hummm, we must have been to only ones who first went into the Tappara shop and then entered the Ilves shop to do some shopping. Finally we ended up with a jersey, a yearbook, two pucks and a skater.
